In Michaela Coel's TV narrative adaptation of her poem, 'Chewing Gum' we see an alternative view on council estate culture. Instead of being a grungy, desaturated, drab place we see a beautiful colorful familial utopia. I wanted to use this same sense of atmosphere at the beginning of my story, I don't want the council estate to come off as miserable, rather I want it to seem idlyllic, heavenly and uncorrupted, an urbanised Eden. This was to further emphasize the disruption wealth and competition into the brings into the community. My project was inspired by North Peckham estate, a romanticized government town-planning effort, conceptualized as an estate above the ground, so when I was planning my environment I wanted to take reference from the South London council estates of Brunel, North Peckham and Aylesbury to stitch together a new council estate concept referencing the building plans​. I made a rough sketch in plan view based off these locations before taking my plan into blender to begin generating a rough architectural layout and texturing them like their original buildings and animating clouds swirling around them..
